About Holly
Where is home?
I am from Australia but Paris is currently home for me.
How did you get your start as a photographer?
I was given my grandad's old pentax when I was younger and taught myself to shoot manually on that. From there, I had a wonderful art teacher at school who was a huge support and submitted some of my work into exhibitions across Australia which then got me into art school in Sydney. Upon moving to Sydney I interned and assisted and my career slowly began to grow from there.
Do you have any other creative outlets?
I love going to live gigs, dancing, frequenting the cinema, running around with friends in nature.
Creative Process + Inspo
What + who inspires you?
My friends, people I cross paths with in the day to day. I feel like there is so much we can learn from one another. Furthermore, films & books are my favourite reference point.
How do you prepare for a photoshoot?
A recce first and foremost, which was wonderful on this shoot as included a lot of swimming. Upon understanding the location and light, building moodboards and worlds that we can reference and tap into.
Can we see a screenshot of your ‘saved’ folder?
Sure.
The Shoot
What are some must-haves while shooting on location?
slip, slop, slap! (Australian reference... hat, sunnies, sunscreen etc)
A favorite moment while shooting our campaign?
Whilst shooting this image on the boat! It was the final few looks of the campaign, the sun was setting and the water was so beautiful. Being able to swim whilst shooting is the dream.
Fill in the blank
It’s the end of day 1 and we’re on our way to eat padrón peppers & fresh fish for dinner.
Must-have items I’m packing are Vitamin A swimwear!
My favorite look was the classic black one piece swimmers with the striped sarong, timeless.
I brought home many tins of anchovies & olive oil from Mallorca.
We listened to Chappel Roan on repeat.
